Route 3

Day 1 Check In: Bodrum – Knidos

Knidos Ancient City, where you will embark on a historical journey among ancient ruins, has been home to many civilizations throughout history and has also been called the city where the seas meet. With its clear sea and unique historical and natural beauties, it promises to be a great start to your holiday.

At Knidos Ancient Harbor, operated by the Datça District Governorship, you can anchor at 10-12 meters for a fee and connect to electricity and water. The prevailing wind here is the meltemi wind, and wind conditions are largely unpredictable, with strong north winds blowing at night. Taking these factors into consideration, we recommend you to make a secure mooring.

Day 2: Knidos – Palamutbükü – İnceburun

After Knidos, you will move on to Palamutbükü, which has the most settlements along your journey. Here, you can find markets, facilities, and a local market where you can meet your needs for gas, ice, fresh fruits, and vegetables. We also recommend visiting the restaurants here to try different tastes.

As the region is partially difficult to reach by car, it has remained unspoiled, and you can anchor at 6-8 meters and stay at anchor. This way, you can enjoy nature and tranquility. However, keep in mind that even on windless days, the sea is slightly choppy. Therefore, you should consider this factor while anchoring.

Inceburun, on the other hand, is a small cove located west of the Ince Burun Lighthouse. Here, you can anchor on the sandy seabed 15 meters offshore. It is a cool refuge, especially on hot summer days. Inceburun can be described as the middle of the open sea; therefore, it is quite deep. If you decide to go ashore, you can see the direction you came from, other boats, and the magnificent view of the open sea.

Day 3: İnceburun – Bencik – Selimiye

Have you ever heard that the people of Knidos wanted to turn the Datça Peninsula into an island to protect themselves against the Persians? One of the areas they wanted to unite to create the Datça Island is Bencik Bay, which is one of the bays frequently preferred by boats due to being sheltered from the winds. Bencik is a peaceful bay where green meets blue and the smell of pine mixes with the smell of the sea.

Selimiye Village, located in the direction you'll be heading towards during the Marmaris leg of your trip, is one of Marmaris' charming holiday destinations. You can experience the village's evenings by staying overnight and taste different flavors in its restaurants and find everything you need in its markets that also allow for boat accommodation. While there are many anchoring areas, the anchoring area at the end of the bay with the long pier is the most commonly used.

As you enter this wide bay and take the Sığ Burnu (Shallow Cape) to your starboard side, there is a rocky area spread over an area of 30-40 meters about 250 meters offshore. Although this area is usually marked by buoys, you should still be cautious. We recommend that you proceed carefully in these areas to safely enter the bay.

Day 4: Selimiye -  Bozukkale

In Bozukkale Bay, there are three different restaurants that are surrounded by nature and have docks where you can tie up your boat. You can have the chance to eat fresh fish from Bozukkale's pristine waters amidst the bare mountains. In this bay, which you can reach by following a hiking trail to the historic Loryma walls, nature, history, magnificent views, and great flavors await you.

Day 5: Bozukkale  -  Datça

After Bozukkale, you can sail to Datça and dock your boat at Datça harbor to experience the region's rich tourist attractions. In Datça, where overnight stays are possible, you can take a peaceful walk on the beach and watch the sunset in the late afternoon, and then have a cheerful night out at various pubs, bistros, and restaurants.

There are two ports on either side of the peninsula that extends eastward from Datça. The shallower port on the north side allows you to anchor on a sandy seabed up to 5-6 meters deep. This port is not particularly acceptable as a harbor, so you should make sure the weather is good before anchoring here.

The southern port is Datça's main port. It has a long dock where many small and large boats can dock. The nearby beach and small pond also create a wonderful background.

Day 6: Datça - Mersincik Koyu

The only natural harbor in the region is Mersincik Bay. The small cove, which opens to the east and is located below the harbor's point, is the safest area here. However, it is important to keep in mind that the cove is quite small and maneuverability is limited when entering. Mersincik Bay is especially crowded during the summer months, so you may have trouble finding a spot. We recommend that you position your boat while anchoring, taking into account the possibility of other boats coming after you.

Day 7 : Mersincik Koyu – Bodrum – Check Out

Your final destination after visiting one of the most beautiful natural harbors of nature, Mersincik, will be Bodrum, your starting point. Here at our D-Marin Turgutreis location, we hope to meet you again, knowing that you had an unforgettable experience.
